Wow, 41 pages. . . took awhile to read through
I haven't upgraded, and from the sounds of things I think I will wait to see what's coming with the next update.
I just wanted to clear one thing up; yes, I was a complainer when the carousel first appeared. My objections were twofold:
1. Clutter - It took up a lot of screen real-estate that forced some useful links into menus (but gave us a quick way to access the shortlist, I will concede that) and it clashed with the design of the book mosaic. In fact, the functionality of the carousel and the mosaic were, or could have been, redundant.
2. Bloat - The 'Recommended' books do take up some of the device's limited memory, and worse, for a function I did not want (or buy into, I thought).
My recommendation is likewise twofold:
1. Replace the mosaic and its dubious functionality with an interface (either mosaic, carousel, or something similar) that is user defined in a similar manner to the method used for the carousel in 1.9.17 - e.g. 'Reading', 'Shortlist', 'Recently Added', etc.
2. No more bloat please.
In fact, I would like the ads to be completely removed, but that seems less and less likely to happen
P.s. Put the clock back where it was!
