Neko, I feel for you (I've been there).
I sometimes believe that teenagers are possessed by Alien intelligences that feed off emotional energy. These beings fasten on the unfortunate teens as soon as puberty has got their hormones going, and nourish themselves on the ensuing emotional highs and lows (which they do their best to stimulate). Eventually, when the hormone levels begin to reach a plateau, the aliens leave to find another host.
In the meantime, life is very difficult for parents but, sooner or later, the alien parasites will go. It's not your fault: it's just the way things are.My daughter re-emerged as a very nice person once she turned 19. Before that, it was sarcasm, dumb insolence and pointed sighs and shrugs every day.
