My cats like non-meat products as well. One cat used to regularly swipe baked goods if they were left even slightly unattended. He had a particular fondness for muffins. A friend had a cat who was extremely fond of popcorn. They used to share a bag while watching TV together.
Ah, got it, now I understand what you mean. Yes, as I understand it, there are certain amino acides that cats absolutely must have to maintain health (taurine being the one that comes to mind).

Oh yes ... popcorn. Several of my cats (including Miss Buzz Saw of 2002, Morgan) beg for that whenever I make it.
