Blinking red -> battery is down -> needs a charge

After charging, I suggest you to do an SD card recovery: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=178263

After that, remove SD card!!

Now you may again try the backup procedure.

When rooting, be sure having removed SD card before!
