Yes, thanks. About $25 USD down in the Electronics neighborhood of Osaka. Shop after shop, street after street, nothing but Computers, Stereos, TVs, etc., etc. It's a USB DVD writer, and right now it's humming away beside me as I install Windows7 Ultimate into my new netbook. I was gonna wimp out and just install WinXP, as I know all about that OS, but I figured I might as well take a chance and go the whole way. The worst that could happen is that I turn the computer into a lovely paperweight...

It took me two reboots before I remembered to go into the BIOS and change the Boot Priority, but then everything seemed to go smoothly. For some reason it wouldn't let me wipe out the partition with the old OS, but after I install the new one I'll run a partition mgr, and get rid of that. I have no need to have two OS's in the one machine, especially as the only difference is the language.
