No idea if the T2 will support HTML. I really think your best bet is to convert. I know it seems like a huge job, but Calibre will do it all for you, and you can just leave it to do its stuff - based on my personal experience, I wouldn't convert more than about 50 books at a time, but that will still let you get on with other things while it churns away in the background.
