He does not sell them on the Kindle. I can't say for other readers. He has a nice feature set up on his web site where he matches libraries and schools with donors. So after reading his latest book on my Kindle for free I donated a hard copy of it to my local library using his web site. Pretty cool.
I now know why you would bother with the Amazon version of the O'Reilly books. They are much cheaper, almost all are $9.99, than the O'Reilly price.
