At first I though it was the firmware, then I thought it was the hardware, and now I'm convinced it is certain cards. Here's hoping for a simple solution.

OK, folks, here's my next installment. My first microSDHC card was the Lexar 8GB (Class 4) that caused problems of various sorts.
Today I purchased an new 8GB microSDHC card (class 4), this time a SanDisk brand...and voila! No problem. My son now uses the Lexar in his cellphone and I'm happy with my Kobo. I knew it mattered for reliability what brand of writable CD's and DVD's a person bought, but I never imagined the same would be true for SD cards, especially common brands you find in the stores. Ah well. Live and learn.
