Seems to be... As I said, we bought two of the Twin size, and the price was about the same. This says it stays cool for about an hour, and I find that mine keeps cool for almost two, but that's just me. Maybe I'm not so hot?
But as I said, just moving over a few inches puts me back in contact with a cool area, while the spot that was warm has a chance to cool off again.
I originally bought a small one for Felicity, but she doesn't seem to care one way or the other. I guess dogs like it better. So I took her pad and put in on my chair. That was enough to convince me to get them for the bed. Three nights now, and I'm sold.

EDIT: I just looked at the Amazon ad again. This is NOT what I bought. Mine is much longer. This one measures as a square. Mine is a long rectangle that covers the bed from head to toe, and half the width of a Queen size mattress. However, the idea is the same.
