The current selection criteria for the carousel is obviously date related (i.e. display most recently added). Without changing the existing database structure, the carousel could be set to pin those books flagged as being on your shortlist in reverse date order i.e. oldest added first. Crude, but workable.

This actually sounds pretty awesome, it would make the carousel effectively into a reading list where you could cue books up, and then when you have finished a book, the next book on the list brings itself to the front of the carousel and then stays there till it is done. This is effectively how I use the shortlist at the moment, but without being able to put books in the order I want to read them (having the order determined by the first added would be good - actually being able to change the order of the reading list would be even better).
