Good point. If you're willing to strip DRM, you can read books from any source on any device.

So let me re-phrase: If you have a Nook, you can read books from pretty much any source except Amazon simply by purchasing it and downloading/sideloading it to your device. The same cannot be said of Sony or Kobo readers. If you want to read B&N books on a Sony or Kobo reader, you have to strip the DRM first.
