Calibre is much like a text adventure game. First copy your Calibre library to a new folder. Now right click on everything to see hidden drop down menu items and try them to see what happens. I always back up to external my music photos videos etc. also in case of fire they are at sons house also

Not sure about how to backup Calibre though. Is it just the same copy and paste the folder somewhere else? Also can I save the read not read options too?
