You claim that (as do many other people), but what is your proof? There are other people who say that in today's world, where technologies ("ideas") are being overhauled very very quickly, simply being the first to market an idea is actually reward enough (same thing applies to art, I would think).
So: can you point me to some studies? Personally, I really don't know, so I am really curious about your justification for that claim.
