I think that is the idea but something went wrong with v2.0.0. For some it worked flawlessly and they saw improvements without losing anything. For other, setting, font etc were lost and for others it all went completely pear shaped. However, I believe the intent was for a seamless upgrade where you wouldn't see any data loss.
