Please see my post #14 above. You're right. Filenames don't show, because they aren't relevant to what Calibre's used for. Calibre stores a book. It's not a Mobi book or an ePub book, it's just a book. Calibre will generate an ePub book if you want to read it on an ePub device, and a Mobi book if you want to read it on a Kindle, but you really need to stop thinking in terms of "files" and think in terms of "books".
