I finished off Hornblower and the Hotspur, and therefore the Young Hornblower omnibus, not long before my library loan expires.

I've also managed to fit in a couple of the shortlisted Hugo novellas, "Countdown" by Mira Grant and "The Ice Owl" by Carolyn Ives Gilman. "Countdown" is backstory for the Newsflesh books which I'm really not a fan of. I found it less irritating than the novels because it wasn't narrated by an annoying idiot. "The Ice Owl" was a nice setting but a bit of a nothing story.
