If I understood correctly, this chip would supplement regular CPUs such as the Intel XScale, right? In other words, it'd be similar to the Intel 2700 multimedia chip of the Axim X50v. Though the Intel chip doesn't support H.264/MP4, nor some of the other newer compression codecs you quoted here. Judging from the success of the X50v due to its multimedia chip, it seems very likely to me that this Lynx chip is going to make waves in the mobile world very soon.
