Is the title metadata failing to change in the ebook, or the changed metadata failing to have an effect on the Gen3?

On some DRMed ebooks you may have to modify the updatedtitle, but I would not expect that of DRM-free ebooks - see exth type, exth data. I don't even know if the Gen3 keys on the updatedtitle (as the Kindle does).
