Secure eReader books is a very early DRM format that Fictionwise sells. the extension on the books are PDB. I believe that B&N used this format as a base for their DRM epubs. To open a Protected PDB you enter you name and credit card number just like you do for a Nook book.
Thanks to Calibre+plugins it's really easy to convert a Secure eReader to format of your choice. The format doesn't have indents so I usually add those.
I get most of my Harlequins from Fictionwise which are in that format. Now they stop adding them I will have to find a new source for new releases.
