Good point. On my S(original) it did have a different partition for the sdcard slot and the internal storage. It seems Samsung has gotten smarter.
Ironically the SD card slot on my device was a huge plus when I purchased my phone... two years later I have yet to put an SD Card slot on my device.
I guess to me SD Cards are like insurance policies nice to have in case you need them but hardly used if ever.
