Hi, My tastes run to gritty, action packed urban fantasy and a bit of other fantasy. None of my recommendations are for "young adult", but at 17 you should be able to enjoy any of these. There is a mix of vamp, were, other fantasy. Try Christopher Moore- he is hilarious.
