I don't think it was scratched. The Glow screen includes a "diffraction grating" to distribute the light more evenly. This was probably damaged by the impact.

More than scratches, people should probably watch out for putting pressure on the screen that might distort the diffraction grating. I guess it is possible that the diffraction grating actually weakened the screen a little bit.
