Perhaps...you're certainly welcome to offer any suggestions in an email to
kindle-feedback@amazon.com. If enough people show interest in having the page numbers always visible, they may change it.
To clarify, I don't consider it to be a flaw but everyone has different preferences. The "percentage complete" is usually the only stat I consider while reading.
