Hello from Paris

I just signed up for this forum, which looks quite interesting. I have been using e-books for a while on my Android phone, but now I am considering getting a "real" e-book reader, mostly to please my eyes which are often tired from staring at computer screens.
E-books are still a bit exotic here in France, unfortunately. I checked a few stores for e-book readers, but other than bookstore chains pushing their own partially locked-down readers, I didn't see much. An electronics chain (Darty) has an exposition of five models, but none of them worked. And strictlly no one seems to offer large-screen readers (9.7"), which is what I'd like to get ideally for reading PDF material.
