So the moral of the story is: next time upload an actual retail ebook intead of a scanned version ?

It is a 'fake' copy of the eBook, it may well be of lower quality, and damage the value of the trademark, same argument as for fake watches and handbags.
(Different matter for uploading an exact copy of a commercial eBook.)
