('course, my anvil is not a 'regulation' blacksmith's anvil. It's a 8" section of railroad rail, that works perfectly for a hobbyist's anvil! Most large homecenter/DIY shops sell them these days. Looks like this.)

I have one like that, only twice as long. My Dad made it, out of a steel I-beam, to use as a sleeve press (for pressing the seam on a sleeve). [ err ... you put the sleeve around the beam and use an iron on it. see? ] It's a bit heavy for the purpose, but it does have sentimental value!
