There is a whole continent in which caps for permanent internet connections are a fact of life, ironically enough the continent on which Google has its head office. Just because you think they're strange and absurd, with which I agree, doesn't mean they don't exist. Nor that it can't get very expensive, much more than the cost of an SD card, if you exceed them.
