Sometimes I can fix it, sometimes not so much. But then, when a neighbor buys a "complete computer system" for $300 ... and the motherboard is deader than a doornail, the proprietary replacement costs close to $300, and none of my generic parts will fit .... even I will admit defeat.
However, over the years I have learned to build and repair computers, and even how to run cable for a network and do my own punchdowns. The software, well, that will drive me crazy long before hardware problem will. I hate having to do work-arounds for badly programmed software. Just plain hate it.

Uh...........Do you make housecalls? I'm not TOOO far away........and I"m starting to get pi&%ed at the smarmy remarks about 'parents learning comuters. Like we're brain dead. We were smart enough to raise you little arseholes and in
some homes pay for your education. If we have a harder time learning what came so easily to you, its because we were too busy working to support you to learn all the new gadgets as they came along. Sit with us, for cryin' out loud, and take the time to show us, yes over and over again, JUST LIKE WE TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE YOU LEARN YOUR MULTIPLICATION TABLES, etc...until we get it thru our heads. We aren't stupid....we're just learning an entirely new process.
