Is this suppose to be a counter argument, because I totally agree with you. It seems like a huge waste of money to spend several grand on a vacation to park your arse and read. I've tried it several times and it drives me nuts.

Also are you talking about Vacation or camping? They are not the same thing. Camping is an subset of vacationing.

People can take vacation to experience another culture or to be pampered.
Exactly. That is why our idea of "camping" is staying at a Motel 6.
Otherwise, when my wife and I go on vacation, we stay at $600 a night luxury suites... (that we get for $75 a night...she's queen of bargain shopping)
