I'm currently using an Archos 80 G9. It has a 4:3 screen layout but is only 8" sized. However, I use it for a lot of comic book and magazine reading and it works just fine. The 10" version has the standard 16:9 layout which makes it the same width and just a little longer, screen-wise.
As far as not being e-ink, I guess you are referring to battery life. Under heavy, constant usage, I get about 7+ hours out of it. Normal usage varies depending on what is being done, but I have gotten up to 18 hours out of the device between charges. The screen usage is the highest battery consumer and unless I am trying to use it in very bright conditions, keep the screen brightness down below 50%. I'm sure I could get a little better battery life if I turned off the wireless, but it seems to not be that big of an issue on battery draining.
