Hi All,
My first Kindle collection of my previously-published stories is free today (July 1, 2012) only:
http://www.amazon.com/Taste-Stories-...1139491&sr=1-1
These are stories I've sold to Aberrant Dreams, City Slab and other magazines and anthologies, as well as a few brand new ones.
My stories are sometimes graphic and scary, but I always aim to say something, not just create characters to kill. My influences range from Harlan Ellison and Clive Barker to Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson. The collection includes "Alicia's Schoolmate," about a little girl zombie and the human friend she makes, "Cannibal Games," about a pair of spree killers and their unspoken affection for each other, "The Beast In Cathedral Hospital," which has been getting the most surprisingly positive reaction from readers (I love the story but editors didn't, yet folks have told me it's their favorite of the collection), along with stories of post-apocalyptic worlds, lesbian vampires, and the usual genre tropes given unique spins, as well as some more original premises involving drugs, familial love and more quiet, character-oriented fantasies.
Thanks for reading my plug, and please give my book a shot, I'd love to hear your reactions.
John
