I do recommend that you also read 'King Rat.' I try to re-read these four of Clavell's Asian Series every few years. It really is THAT good!

I think you were the one who tipped me on this series and I intend to read them all. I don't know how fast I'll read them, I'm not really into big epic stories but I work my way through them.
