The lack of the right build was the problem. In other words, an ID10T error. Thanks to all of you, Geekmaster and NiJuLe above all others. I knew knew to look for a k3g build so I only pulled the first one I found out of the archive. My fault.
Question: Is the appropriate uninstaller is the same regardless which you use?
