Apple wanted the speedy trial. Sometime this year. But the DOJ said they needed more time and they got it from Judge Cote.

Also, the settling publishers submitted a request to be a "non party" to the lawsuit which means they don't have to provide evidence during the discovery phase or otherwise offer documents/facts to help either Apple or the DOJ. Naturally, the DOJ is angered by this and disagrees saying it's not part of the initial settlement agreement.
