Dont like the term photoshop when referring to retouching an image. A lot of work done on images is not done in photoshop. In the industry photoshop is more likely used for manipulated rather than retouched but even that is sloppy inaccurate shorthand.
In photography "capture" has just about replaced "take" as a term referring to the actual moment of image creation with a camera. DSLR has replaced SLR and MFDB has replaced MF.
The funny thing is film was, in a sense, more digital than an electronic sensor. The reason is a silver halide particle was always either exposed and developed or not. It never had any shaded of grey. It was black or it was simply not there after being removed in processing while every sensor site or pixel can display 256 discrete values in 8 bit.
