I fling all my bookreaders around with a fair degree of abandon and have yet to come to grief as a result, and I'm on my 4th eInk device (Sony Reader, iLiad, and two Gen3s). As long as you avoid torsion (ie twisting) or putting a lot of pressure on a single point on the screen, they are no more delicate than, say, the typical laptop computer. Certainly it's nothing to "worry" about.
