My favorite Louis L'Amour book is The Walking Drum. This is not a western. It is set in Europe and The Middle East, in the 12Th Century.
He wrote 105 books so enjoy. I did and still do.

Thanks for replying. So far I've read about 20 of his novels. Every one of them has been incredible! I didn't read the Sackett novels in order but I am still enjoying the heck out of them. I plan on reading all 105 of L'Amour's novels eventually. My favorite so far is without a doubt Jubal Sackett, followed by The Daybreakers and Hondo.

As an aside, I also joined the Louis L'Amour Collection and have started receiving his books in the leatherette binding. It's a great investment for my library and something I can pass along to my kids someday.
