Reading at night:

Even with the brightness turned all the way down, in night mode the native Vox reader app is still too bright for me. I use Aldiko as a reader app and it has a wider brightness range and lots more features than the Vox reader or Overdrive. Even then it's too bright for me, so I installed Screen Filter, which drops the brightness even more. Now the 3 menu buttons are way too bright, so I jam a piece of paper across the bottom in my case to dim them.
