It took a while to sink in.
Today I had to laugh at two American tourists. They came in asking where they could find The Dome. I answered them that there wasn't a dome in Utrecht. They took out their guide, telling me there is one mentioned in their guide although it was misspelt as Dom. They clearly hadn't read the guide, the
Dom (or Dom Tower) is the tower of the biggest church in Utrecht (in 1674 a tornado swept away the bit between the church proper and the tower). There was a big picture of the tower right next to the text about it!
