On-screen keyboard or handwriting recognition

The Nokia site has this information in the section on UI:

4. How can I use the stylus for writing with the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet?
There are two options to use the stylus that comes with the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. You can write either by tapping the on-screen keyboard or by writing with the stylus on the screen and making use of the handwriting recognition ability.

5. What is the difference between the on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition?
The on-screen keyboard is a small QWERTY interface that appears on the screen of the device. Using the stylus that comes with Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, you can use the on-screen keyboard to tap in the characters you want to enter. Handwriting recognition is a method where the movement of the pen is recorded and compared to a library of characters. When a match is found, the character is input to the text field.

6. How does the handwriting recognition work?
When the handwriting recognition is turned on, you can write with the stylus on the screen, using your personal handwriting style. To input text with the handwriting recognition, tap the area on the screen where you want to write and start writing the characters.

7. How do I train the device to understand my handwriting style?
The device recognizes several different writing styles, but you can also train the device to recognize your personal style with the training program located in the control panel of the device.
