i have no idea how i managed to disable your ability to PM me - it may have to do with the fact that i was trying to change may contact email address to one i use more regularly, but that didn't quite seem to work either, so i've now reverted to the original one, which may also mean that you are now able to PM me again? - but in any case, thanks for your swift reply.
i'll try and get the hang of all of this quickly so you won't have to intervene again! :-)
