I purchased a used EE over a year ago and I have never had a problem with it coming out of hibernation. Guess I'm lucky (see post # 3:

For what it's worth my EE has the the straight rubber strips. I can't speak about the logo as my EE came with a Decal Girl Skin installed by the previous owner.
There are others who do not have hibernation problems with their EEs. Here's a couple:

However, my EE does take tinted green pictures and the default browser crashes like crazy which is why I use Opera Mini exclusively. It has never crashed.
