It's up to the individual owner to weigh the comfort/discomfort of reading with a case versus the risk of dropping and breaking the T1.
If I could I´d get a silicone protector or a TPU protector. I´m stuck for the time being to the Sony lighted case because I read at night or in ill lighted places so much. But the first chance I get, that´ll be my setup.
