converting into pdf is OK since you can convert it in such a way as is suitable for 6"
i.e. you have a non-pdf source and you can use that to produce a PDF of any size, font style, margins, ...
just don't expect pdfs to work with a dic then, nor with reflow. you should think of PDFs more as image files than anything else.
