Actually, I think for me this type of drawing is a form of laziness. It's HARD to draw "accurately", with the proper shading, and mentally mapping colors to grays and grays to shades of grays... so much easier to mentally say "everything maps to black or white". Then the only "artistic judgment" is in deciding where to draw that line, so to speak.

Plus my shading technique isn't refined... the gradations aren't smooth, it still looks like I rubbed a pencil back and forth, because that's exactly what I did. Rather than work to improve, I give up and get out the nice fat black pen and cover it all up.

I am after all a programmer. Everything is binary, even pretty girls.
