Actually, I was pretty clear that the eReader came preloaded with books and that some kind of nebulous services were mentioned. I don't have enough information to determine if this a good deal or not, but I suspect not. I tend to believe that Amazon didn't just agree to provide a world wide 3G phone service for $16.5 million. I tend to believe that Amazon simply agreed to provide Kindle 3G eReaders that operate on the existing 3G network.
The bottom line is that it is a lot of money per device. When you add books and services it might be a reasonable deal. However, we really need to know what those books and services are to make that determination.
