I set off alarms when I go in and out of stores, too. Have been thinking for some time it might be my PE (in hibernation) but never bothered to find out for sure!
The funny thing is nobody ever looks up or asks me to show them what's in my bag or anything! How effective can these alarms be if no-one pays attention??!
