I've noticed it too, but I *do* notice a difference if you make the font larger - that larger the font size, the crisper the letters.

I uploaded Arial into the reader, and I find it gives a nice clear font, but again at a larger size. I think I've got my font slider button 1/3 of the way to the right. I have old, tired eyes.
