Amazon is very restrictive about which companies they allow as registered developers. A lot of us have signed up, unsuccessfully...

And they would not let us put anything in their store until they tested it. The free stuff is mostly for promotional purposes. Although some if it has no "cost", it is not really "free" -- you are not free to do as you want to with it...

Did you try to register with amazon as an "active content developer"? How did that turn out?
