I think, though, it's a little unreasonable to describe the fact that a 3rd-party tool doesn't work with the Kindle as a "problem" with the Kindle. There was never any claim made by Amazon (or anyone else) that it would work, after all.

That's true of course.
But it is my main reason for not wanting to own a Touch or a Fire.
Kindle Collections works well with the Keyboard and the Basic models. For some reason, Amazon have blocked access to the necessary interface to allow it for function for a Touch or a Fire. That is a disappointment for a number of users.
